We are based in the South Island of New Zealand as the majority of our tours are of New Zealand's major scenic highlights of the South Island from Christchurch across the Southern Alps via Arthur's Pass to Punakaiki, Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers, Haast Pass, Wanaka, Queenstown, Te Anau, Fiordland, Doubtful Sound, Milford Sound, Dunedin, Mt Cook, Lake Tekapo and the Canterbury Foothills and Plains. Typically this tour is from 14 to 16 days; shorter or longer versions are available.

Scenic grandeur extends the length and breadth of the South Island. There are many options for touring the Upper South Island from just 3 or 4 days to 7 to 10 days or more for a full circuit from Christchurch via Arthur's Pass to Punakaiki, St. Arnaud, Nelson Lakes National Park, Motueka, Abel Tasman National Park, Golden Bay and Farewell Spit at the top north west of the South Island. Then from Motueka to Nelson, Blenheim, Picton and the Marlborough Sounds at the top north east of the South Island also Kaikoura between Blenheim and Christchurch for Whale Watching; or Hanmer Springs for a warm thermal experience on the more direct route from Nelson to Christchurch via Lewis Pass.


North + South Island from Auckland or Christchurch: Hamilton, Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, Rotorua, Lake Taupo, Central North Island Volcanoes, Wellington, Picton, Blenheim, Marlborough, Kaikoura and finishing in Christchurch OR extended to include the Lower South Island from Christchurch.

North + South Island tours starting from Auckland are designed as a prelude to a Lower South Island tour or finishing in Auckland as a finale to a South Island tour. These tours usually require 8 to 10 days Auckland to Christchurch (or reverse) not including the Upper North Island or Lower South Island.

North + South Island tours to or from Auckland typically include the Glow Worm Caves at Waitomo, Rotorua Geothermal and Maori Cultural features and attractions, Waimangu Thermal Valley, Lake Taupo, Tongariro National Park Central North Island volcanoes and the Cook Strait InterIslander ferry between Wellington and Picton at the top of the South Island; also Blenheim, Marlborough Vineyards and Wineries and Kaikoura for Whale Watching.

With our assistance and advice you may wish to travel north from Auckland to Russell, Paihia, The Bay Of Islands, Cape Reinga (the very northern tip of the North Island) and the giant Kauri trees of Waipoua Forest.


Southern South Island: Queenstown, Fiordland, Doubtful Sound, Milford Sound, Southern Scenic Route, Invercargill, Bluff, Stewart Island, Ulva Island, The Catlins, Dunedin, Otago Peninsula.

Back to the South Island ...... this tour may start from Queenstown, Te Anau or Dunedin or as an extension to a more typical "Lower South Island" tour from Christchurch to Christchurch. Includes nature cruising with expert nature guides in Fiordland (Doubtful Sound and Milford Sound) and south from Bluff near the city of Invercargill at the very bottom of the South Island across Foveaux Strait to Stewart Island and Ulva Island off the south coast. The full loop from Queenstown to Dunedin (or reverse) requires 9 days including Queenstown, Doubtful Sound, Milford Sound, Stewart Island and Dunedin or just 3 or 4 days as an extension to our usual lower South Island tour route direct from Queenstown or Te Anau to Dunedin.

Returning from Stewart Island north via Invercargill and the Catlins to Dunedin "Edinburgh Of The South" and the Otago Peninsula Royal Albatross and Yellow Eyed Penguin Colonies. For those continuing from Dunedin directly to Christchurch or turning inland at Oamaru via the Waitaki Valley toward Mount Cook the fascinating Moeraki Boulders are a little north of Dunedin.
