"We just had the best vacation ever, great
accommodations, wonderful food. Our time in your lovely country exceeded
our expectations. You are extremely good at what you do and we both think
you have spoiled us for future travels without Malcolm ..... the most
surprising/striking thing about New Zealand? Honestly, there are so many
possibilities, it's hard to choose one, but I think it has to be the way
we were received by the people of New Zealand, everywhere we went. I was
prepared for friendliness, but truly, it was overwhelming. The people we
encountered seemed so genuinely happy to see us and to have an interest in
us, far beyond what I've ever encountered. It was humbling."

"Dear Malcolm, Just a little note to thank
you and Paul for organising our days in the
South Island..... We really enjoyed ourselves and the attention we
received in all the places we were taken was wonderful. We felt we had
known people for years! I am aware that to you and Paul it is just a
business and we were just one of your 12 days work but you certainly made
us feel special. Paul's patience while Paula and I browsed in the shops
was an example to H&C. We are not usually allowed!....No just kidding, but
we usually have more protest from them. Clive and Harold have an enormous
task to sort their photos. I think there will be a certain amount of
debate as to where some of them were taken and we can enjoy our trip all
over again just looking at them. Thank you for the photos you sent, please
pass on our thanks to Paul and all our "friends" Happy safe travels and

"In New Zealand, the word “brilliant” is used frequently as an
adjective, such as, “brilliant food, brilliant view, brilliant idea”. My
husband and I spent two weeks in the South Island in late March to mid
April 2005. Our driver/guide, Malcolm Latta, was brilliant. What a superb
trip we had ..... tailored to our wishes.
Our accommodations were thoughtfully chosen ..... we
shared dinner and breakfast with families and we ate at restaurants,
whichever was appropriate for that day. Two weeks was only enough time to
see part of South Island. One could easily spend more time."

Zealand, and, I suspect, are rather tired of hearing about it by now. It
truly was a trip we would rate as 5 star...thanks, not only to the
wonderful country itself, but to your efforts. I really can't decide what
I liked best...the magnificent scenery, the people we met during our home
stays, all the things we learned about the unique environment, or our
special experiences hiking or boating. (The ice cream wasn't bad either!)
I can say without reservation that I would recommend you and the whole
experience to anyone! You somehow managed to cater to all four of us

could come up with. (As I remember, the questions averaged about one

New Zealand! We have great pictures, and incredible memories. When you come to

Even though we had been thoroughly spoiled by Brilliant Tours and the South Island, we
still enjoyed the North Island. Rotorua smelled, there were scads of tourists, and
we were herded around like sheep in the big buses. A couple times, it took more than
45 minutes for the bus to stop at all the hotels before the tour could begin. (Yes,
we missed you, Paul!) Still, the Maori culture, the volcano/earthquake info, and the
glow worms were fascinating, and I'm glad we didn't miss it. I wish that we had

And . . . . .
"When Chrys & I disembarked from the ferry at Picton, Malcolm Latta of
Brilliant Tours was the first person we saw standing at the foot of the ramp holding a
Kennedy Party sign.
From that point until our departure from Christchurch airport 15 days later, when we
shared a final cup of tea with him in the airport departure area, Malcolm's knowledge,
helpfulness, courtesy, experience and genuine friendliness shaped the experience of our
trip to New Zealand's South Island much more than we had expected.
We feel very fortunate to have found Brilliant Tours and travelled with Malcolm.
We now truly regard him as a friend and cherish our memories of the people he introduced
us to at the farm and home stays. Malcolm is very attentive and flexible. I suggest
letting him know your needs and any specific interests you have.
I'm confident he will produce an unforgettable, custom experience for you as he did for
us. You will travel in comfort and safety because Malcolm operates a modern, 4WD Toyota
mini-coach and is an excellent driver."
And . . . . . .
"We debated about the best size of a group
before finalizing our plans with Malcolm. We considered the benefits of
traveling with another couple or two and decided we would be open to one
couple at most. As it turned out there was just the two of us & it was
perfect. There was no need to compromise on what we wanted to do or when
to do it and we enjoyed having the whole vehicle to ourselves. We were
able to set the itinerary exactly as we wanted it & modify it any time
rather than being stuck with a rigid schedule. Each day unfolded to suit
our interests and mood. Malcolm is extremely flexible and as he gets to
know you he will make suggestions & adjustments to enhance your trip.
We enjoyed our stay at the wonderful Chateau
on the Park Hotel in Christchurch but could have spent another day or two
there without exhausting the possibilities. Our fondest memories are the
time we spent on the home and farm stays that Malcolm arranged for us. Our
hosts treated us like visiting friends rather than paying guests. Maybe
that is a Kiwi characteristic that is just more evident in the homes than
hotels. We also socialized with other guests and at places where dinner
was not provided, such as in Queenstown, went out together for dinner. We
spent two weeks on the South Island with Malcolm and would loved to have
had more time there. It is the best vacation trip we have ever taken. I
can't imagine a better way to experience New Zealand."

fun. The scenery was excellent from driving thru Arthur's Pass to the glacier and the jet
boat ride. Well I am glad that we missed the bad weather. The weather was wonderful there.
I didn't except it to be that nice. I thought it was going to be really cold. Thanks again
for a memorable trip."

"Dear Malcolm: Thank you for making our adventure to New Zealand one of life's
highlights. The patience and understanding both you and Paul exhibited are gratefully
appreciated. Tom and Leigh's wedding was everything they wanted and more, and all the
people who were involved are wonderful. It was quite an accomplishment for you."

"We had no idea that when we began planning this trip that it would turn out to be
EVERYTHING we dreamed of and more!. We know that you couldn't have possibly scheduled the
glorious weather ..... sunshine, rainbow, majestic scenery ....... however it was obvious
that all of the details you could control were executed with careful thought and care.
Thank you for helping plan our spectacular wedding adventure!. It was more than we could
have hoped for! Very many thanks."

"We've been around the world but seen nothing as beautiful as New Zealand. The
scenic beauty is just unbelievable. We would like to thank Malcolm for looking after us so
well, that we want to come back - and hopefully soon.
We had taken a 2-day farm stay with Malcolm and travelled to the West Coast. It was a
lovely experience. The vehicle we travelled in was comfortable, the stay excellent and the
hosts were friendly and warm."

"Malcolm I brag about you to all my friends and tell them they must see New
Zealand! You can use any and every comment e-mail or whatever that I have made to
promote your business! Hey sometimes I wish that I could say to hell with the
corporate world and do what you do for a living."

"Thank you for bringing us a lot of new and interesting
experiences everyday on this trip - eg walking in the forest at night to see the glow
worms, picking cherries, feeding horses, sheep, picnic at riverside, warm & kind
farmstay ....... however the most unforgettable things are your kind and patient care for
us in 12 days - your different kind of knowledge to the nature - your magic spell to
animals - and of course 'You' .......

"Thank you for your kindness, we have very much enjoyed our travel. So far we have
travelled to US, Europe, SE Asia, and to many places in Japan. Every travel has given us
unforgettable experiences, but I believe this travel will be 'the best'. Every part,
everything, every person - all are nice! Shotover Jet boat was really
exciting! Ayako enjoyed it most. Flowers were very, very beautiful everywhere. The
absent minded professor was always curious about the house construction. I Hiroshi,
was always trying to interpret correctly - but it was a precious experience.......

"Malcolm, thank you for a terrific tour. It was better than going on the train or
one of the bus tours because of your friendly personality, but especially due to the fact
you are more than a "tour guide" who has memorised a sheet of facts.
It is obvious your knowledge is born of experience and a genuine love of your country
and this makes tours with you the best. Thanks for sharing your love and knowledge with
us."

"My Dear Malcolm - it's hard to put what Tony and I experienced into words!. New
Zealand is a phenomenal country - overwhelming because no matter where we looked we could
see the hand of God Our Father. It was as if he had taken a paint brush and painted all
the magnificent colours for us to enjoy!. It was breathtaking and unforgettable!."
"Thank you Malcolm for all your little surprises and short breaks along the
way. We will have fond memories to tuck away in our hearts for a
lifetime."

your endeavours and once again, Thank you!."
